About me

The reason that led me to create this web site derives from my wish to give a timeframe to my activity.

In other words, I wanted to carry out something that puts the real present in touch with my real and virtual personal past, expressed in the thousands of works I have done: reproductions and remakes of classical, ancient and modern themes and authors, as well as new personal and unpublished works.

I considered this operation as necessary as, having taken stock of the many years spent among colours and paintbrushes, I felt the need of affirmation in this moment of contemporary life, so empty of values.

Art is not necessary, somebody said once: this is perhaps true, as it is true that you can live without conversing with yourself..... you have only to keep your mind full with external thoughts.
But if you happen to notice a question that comes from “inside”, if you also become curious enough to listen to that voice that is talking to you only, and most of all if you are not afraid of listening, of feeling a mysterious presence (we might call it soul, conscience, spirit – I believe they are different names for the same thing -) at that point another factor comes into play: new but old, in my opinion, as old as the history of mankind, something that Pessoa described thus: “the proof that life is not enough”: Art.

What is important is that there must always be an art to give us a voice from “inside” and that you always have the awareness of finding an answer to that never expressed question, because we are free human beings, free but bound to each other and the light within each of us enlightens the route of our neighbour.

What you’ll see in this web site are answers looking for questions and I hope my work can contribute to give more awareness that what we have around us and to make these presences – both material or human - be enjoyed, both with a soul that bathes in the same spring.
