Curriculum Vitae

A painter purely out of passion, Marco Rindori officially began his own work in 1979, during his military service, which gave him regular periods of free time in which he dedicated himself to the study of artistic technique.

Enrolled in the artisan’s guild, Albo degli Artigiani, since 1980, he began his professional work at the same time as he continued his increasingly in-depth study of the techniques of some schools of painting by reproducing antique paintings and putting on the shoes of an “art imitator” and transferring the results to both commissioned works and, especially, to those carried out as real practical verifications without any budget limitations.

His constant and continuous studies have brought Rindori to a daily application of work methods that we would define today as “classical”; in fact, it is essential to prepare the pictorial support with its own gesso coating, according to the technique chosen for that particular subject.

In addition, if it is a copy or a re-interpretation, often the colors are mixed according to now antique recipes: the passion for such a special craft is found in the details. All this in an extremely classical, pure craftsmanlike environment.

Nevertheless, following a natural (and logical) evolution, Rindori’s personal expression has long revolved around the composition of subjects that then totally become his own original creation and in his technical understanding of which the study’s importance is perceived as having been drawn from a never ending study of pictorial techniques from art history, if perceived and applied as a homage to the old Masters’ greatness.

The years spent in a continuous study of technique and style in time have found a place dedicated to personal exhibitions, and they have left Rindori surprised by those who had discovered a classical and original artist, freed from contemporary currents, very often approving and repetitive, as well as technically negligible.

When he then began to exhibit his own works, in the second half of the 1990’s, they certainly were not lacking in recognition; national and international prizes, together with the arrival of new clients, public and private, confirmed an unexpected talent, technically and experientially rich so as to leave an indelible trace on true art.

Rindori’s personal vision of reality, of itself original and unrepeatable by the act of time on the interpretation of Nature, is reflected in his works with their immediately and clearly understandable images but with meanings explained through comparison / example, according to some philosophical principles of the Greek masters.

Time, memory and light are the points of reference, the hermeneutical representation and interpretation of which permit playing with the expressed reality, interpreting its essence at times, while, at other times, reflecting it as if in a virtual mirror.

Rindori’s works are found in museums, / public and corporate collections as well as those of private collectors who are well-known in the international art market; in addition, the other works, carried out for private clients and whose documentary importance has been recognized by art historians and critics, can be found in official booklets on Michelangelo at both the Uffizi Museum in Florence and the Vatican Museums in Vatican City.

Following requests from schools and private individuals, Rindori has undertaken a completely new experience and has made his own experience available by offering drawing and painting courses which have been held in various locations.

Marco Rindori began a path of rigorous study that today integrates various aspects of technique. Recently he has initiated a study of graphics, engraving and sculpture in order to better understand the possibilities of their interaction along Art’s pathways and to make the result worthy of the artistic culture and history expressed by Italy and by Tuscany, in particular.
